This is one of the most exciting and flexible printmaking techniques available. It’s inexpensive, adaptable to any theme and guaranteed you’ll be hooked.
What you'll learn:-
How to make your own hand-cut stencils
What inks to use, so the plate doesn’t dry and the paper doesn’t rip!
How to make clean, not messy prints.
Textures - you can literally print from anything with texture. Make your own handmade stamping blocks. Try out textured wallpapers, doilies and even kitchen utensils!
Printing from botanical leaves and plants
Photo transfer from magazines, as well as your own photos
Foils, paint and gel pens, how to enhance your final piece and working back into your prints.
Materials included
All materials will be supplied - gel printing plate, brayer, acrylic paints and various papers, copy/cartridge, tissue paper, etc.
What experience do I need?
This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn more about gel plate printing and loves to experiment with new techniques. Suitable for both beginners and more intermediate artists.
